Two Houston Officers Injured in Cruiser Crash
Two Houston police officers were slightly injured when a suspected drunk driver in a sport-utility vehicle slammed into their patrol car in the Clear Lake area late Wednesday night.
The 2-vehicle crash occurred at Space Center Boulevard and Bay Area Boulevard about 11:30 p.m., according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said the officers, whose names have not been released, were rushed to Clear Lake Regional Hospital. They were treated for minor injuries and released.
Police said the officers were traveling northbound on Space Center when the driver of a silver Honda Passport traveling eastbound on Bay Area apparently ran a red light and smashed into the squad car.
The Passport driver, a 37-year-old woman, was found to be driving while intoxicated, police said.
