Two NYPD cops escaped their burning vehicle after a Brooklyn BMW driver slammed into them, police said Monday.

The police car’s airbags deployed, and the officers quickly got out of their burning vehicle at 65th St. and Eighth Ave. in Bay Ridge about 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

The driver who hit them ran off but later returned to the scene and was arrested.

The officers, from the 68th Precinct, were responding to a 9-1-1 call about a fight on 14th Ave. in Dyker Heights when a white BMW crashed into the cruiser, sending it flying into a pole, police said.

The impact set the engine on fire, but the officers got out and were treated for minor injuries.

The FDNY responded and put of the fire.

Driver Jianzhen Yang, 39, of Queens, ran off but later came back to the scene and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failing to yield the right of way, police said.

Other officers were sent to investigate the fight.
