Two Las Vegas police officers were injured in a crash while pursuing a robbery suspect who carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint Thursday.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. as Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers were following up on a robbery suspect, KVVU-TV reports. At some point, the armed suspect carjacked a vehicle, setting off a chase.
During the chase, shots were fired by the suspect and police. The suspect abandoned then abandoned the stolen car and tried to steal another vehicle before colliding with a police K-9 unit.
An officer in the K-9 unit was injured, and another officer was hurt in a another crash during the chase. Both officers were taken to the hospital, and their injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
The suspect also was injured and taken to the hospital. Another person was treated at the scene.
