Two Tennessee police officers were injured Tuesday while investigating a hit-and-run crash when they were struck by a cruiser that was hit by another vehicle.

The incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. as Memphis police were working the scene of a hit-and-run crash along Interstate 240, WATN-TV reports. Two officers were outsider their cruiser when it was struck by another vehicle.

That crash sent the cruiser barrelling into the officers, hitting them. They were rushed to the hospital and are expected to recover.
