Carfax has launched Carfax VIN Alert to provide law enforcement with around-the clock surveillance of vehicles. Auto crime investigators using VIN Alert are notified by email when new information for vehicles being monitored is added to the Carfax database. This powerful tool eliminates the need to check for updates, helping investigators save precious time tracking down suspects and solve crimes faster.
Investigators simply add the vehicle identification number or license plate of any car they’re tracking into the VIN Alert tool. In addition to email alerts, investigators also see when other agencies partnered with Carfax are monitoring the same vehicles, improving collaboration between police departments nationwide.
Carfax information is a key resource more than 2,500 law enforcement agencies rely on to help combat auto theft and fraud. With access to more than 11 billion pieces of information in the Carfax database, investigators have recovered stolen and cloned vehicles, identified odometer rollbacks, tracked washed titles and more.
