L-Tron's Upgraded Thermal Media Paper for Law Enforcement

L-Tron has upgraded their thermal media for their Law Enforcement and Public Safety customers.

Dec. 9, 2014 - VICTOR, N.Y. -- L-Tron has upgraded their thermal media for their Law Enforcement and Public Safety customers. The upgraded thermal paper fit for Brother PocketJet Printers used in patrol vehicles, is 21-pound heavyweight paper with a 10-year archival and now comes in both perforated and continuous roll options.

The new perforated paper option has a black line on the underside along the perforation. This black line is read by the printer, indicating to stop printing so the Officer can tear at the perforation for a clean & consistent tear. Since the PocketJet Printer preferences need to be changed to stop at this black line, we provide step-by-step instructions on how to do so.

From listening to our Law Enforcement customers at conferences and through submitted testimonials, those who have made the switch from continuous to perforated thermal paper swear by it, noting that it’s easier to tear and has a cleaner, more consistent tear.

Comparing this paper to other thermal media for PocketJet printers, the industry standard archival is around 7 years. The upgraded archive lifetime for 10 years improves record management for Law Enforcement officials to minimize the chance that their printed citations fade beyond legibility before they’re used in court.

In addition, the upgraded paper can come pre-printed with colored logos and form layouts, both single sided and double sided. This is enticing for Public Safety officials who issue parking tickets and general violations, as they can pre-print regulations, directions to the courthouse, department seals, and other official documentation on the back of issued tickets.

This upgraded thermal media also comes in a variety of durability options, including tear-resistant, weatherproof, and a variety of thicknesses and widths.
