DataDots are tiny microdots, each the size of a grain of sand, with multiple lines of laser-etched information detailing an asset's main identifier, or the identification of its owner. Thousands of DataDots can be applied to the surface of an object. The DataDots can then be detected with a UV light, and read with a simple magnifying device, making the true identification of the asset or its owner easily detectable. DataDot USA and police departments are partnering to offer this technology to communities nationwide through the co-sponsored Community Crime Prevention Program.
